UAT has partnered with Ohio State University and SUNY Polytechnic Institute to deliver technology for an Agility Prime project that supports the commercial market for flying cars. The Air Force is initially interested in mid-sized electric vertical take off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, with a first-flight goal of 2023. UAT and Beacon Works have joined forces through this contract/order for commercial items, to deliver an AI Tracking System For Electrical Wiring On Single Maintenance Record.

The objective of this AFWERX Agility Prime focus is to explore commercial technologies in the emerging eVTOL market to field ORBs for disaster response, humanitarian aid, and logistics missions. The scope of these technologies include autonomy, advanced aircraft materials, electrical power storage, sensing and monitoring.

Agility Prime aims to bring together industry, investor, and government communities to establish safety and security standards while accelerating commercialization coupled with a “Race to Certification” series. Phase I awardees are eligible for a Phase II contract to enable further work. These Phase II awards are $750,000. Selected Phase II awards may transition to Phase III which do not have a defined funding ceiling.
